BooksmART @ the DMA!

The new 2012 season of BooksmART has been announced!  BooksmART is a part of the Arts & Letters Live literary series at the Dallas Museum of Art which brings award-winning authors and illustrators to the museum.  

This year's BooksmART line-up includes: 

Daniel Handler & Maira Kalman, January 29, 3:00 p.m.
Daniel Handler (AKA Lemony Snicket) and co-author Maira Kalman will talk about their new book about the break-up of two teens.   


Laura Numeroff, March 16, 7:00 p.m.

Laura Numeroff is the illustrator of the classic If You Give a Mouse a Cookie (and the other If You Give... books) as well as many other popular cihldren's stories.  

 Marc Brown, April 15, 3:00 p.m.
Marc Brown is the creator of the wildly popular "Arthur" books that have been kid (and adult!) favorites for years.  


 Judy Blume, April 19, 7:00 p.m.
Beloved author Judy Blume is known for candid, relevant writing that appeals to children, tweens, and teens.  She paved the way for today's young adult authors that fight to write about what matters to kids. 


If you live in the area, make plans to attend these and/or the other Arts & Letters Live programs.  The events I have attended through these series are some of the most memorable author presentations I've ever heard. 

Also, be sure to mark your calendars for June 9, 2012 the date of the 2nd annual BooksmART Festival.  Last year's event was a smashing success, so you won't want to miss this year's fest.  Details will be announced in April.
