The 2014-2015 Texas Bluebonnet Award Master List was announced at the Texas Book Festival in Austin on October 26. The announcements were made by the hilarious Jon Scieszka and Mac Barnett, creators of the new Battle Bunny. 
The Texas Bluebonnet List is a list of recommended reading for students in grades 3 - 6. Readers who read 5 or more of the nominees are eligible to vote for their favorite to receive the Texas Bluebonnet Award. The voting takes place in January; the recipient receives the award in April at the TLA Annual Conference. Click here to see the complete 2014-2015 list.

Two early favorites on the list are Counting by 7s by Holly Goldberg Sloan and The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt, illustrated by Oliver Jeffers. And, of course I love anything by the great Jarrett J. Krosoczka. I look forward to seeing which books my students enjoy!
